From Rockland my friend Julie came to visit again, this time by herself. We were able to show her what life is like on the boat. Lots of work and then lots of relaxation. Most days we have a good balance of both.
Maine has good hiking trails and the kids surprised us by climbing over 1.5 miles on a strenuous trail then asked for more. Wow! Who would have thought.
It is time for us to head south from here. After a few days of visiting Bar Harbor we will work our way South. Last night is was a balmy 40 degrees. Brrr! Good thing we have our 30 degree sleeping bags, especially the kids.
Visiting Castine, ME Perfect timing for their museum's wood worker to make Sam and Nick wooden spinning tops. |
Also at the museum a blacksmith that made us two hooks. |
Surrounded by fog. A fairly common occurrence up North. |
New Junior Rangers for Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island (MDI). |
One of our troopers on our strenuous hike. |
Lunch on the summit of Isle Au Haut. |
Hot stone massage for Mamma after the hike. |
Buckle Island and the door to the trail of fairy houses. |
Those fairies live in small houses. |
Happy Birthday! |
Still has those eye lashes. |
Beauty Queen. |
Lobster again 5 for $20.00. Thank you Julie! |
